Ahh, 4 day weekends means lots of podcast catchup
Blade The Series - Pilot - The series picks up where the movies left off. The Vampires are trying to get stronger and Blade needs to stop them. I liked the first episode and can't wait to see where they take this show, it has potential. I think the lead did a pretty good job nailing the way Snipes delivered the character. Never read the books so I don't know if it's correct or not, but I like that the feel is the same as the movies. Lots of storylines going on in the pilot so they have lots of places to go with this show.
Ask a Ninja - Episode 23 - Ninternships - Ask a ninja about becoming a ninja in an internship. Pretty funny stuff, if you can get the French people to fight! Funny!
Diggnation - Episode 52 - Diggnation is changing the format a little bit. Kevin and Alex are going to cover a topic genre instead of the biggest stories - FOOLED YOU!!! - they were just kidding. They're drinking beer, Alex looks like he has a Red Stripe which isn't bad it's a Jamaican beer. Kevin is drinking Spatan a Munich style Lager. Alex recounts a shady drug deal he was involved in during college. Digg v. 3.0 is the biggest story of the week. Talk about the new Spiderman trailer. DAMN STRAIGHT - Alex and Kevin agree (and I do too) that Intel needs to rename their processors so that I can look at it and know which one is the fastest. AMD makes the numbers up, but you know that the 4800+ is faster than the 4600 or 3800. Some more MySpace talk and Kevin is done with AllofMP3 because someone told him it was illegal. Alex pirates. Good episode.
Geekdrome - Episode 32 - Jon does Videoake which is like Karaoke but with film and tv clips instead, WITH some Saved by the Bell talk, NICE! R. Kelly's Trapped in the Closet is on DVD, and after 5 mins, Dan needed to watch the end of it. Like 15 mins was Superman and I skipped it since I haven't seen the new movie yet. And they like to talk about intricate plot details when they review movies. Then reviewed the new Spiderman trailer (which looks awesome.) Then some comic and video game talk that I really didn't care about.
dl.tv - Episode 74 - Patrick wears a different shirt AND a blazer on this show because someone complained he wears the same stuff. Starts off with some Net Neutrality talk, which is really important. Patrick is just as mad about Net Neutrality as I am. Cell phones for browsing talk. Guitar Hero 2 comes out soon, and they like it. I like this show quite a bit, it's always entertaining. I feel for the guy who lost 2 months of data for his largest client, because, man, I've been or almost been there.
Crankygeeks - Episode 16 - The guys are cranky because the Blu-Ray is too expensive. Of course the people have no idea what they're talking about they still think that ICT is enabled and the movie studios and manufactures said they won't until like 2011 (we'll see if that's true or not, but for now no ICT is enabled.) This particular show was just about complaining with very little good tech talk. Usually it's better than this.
TWIT - Episode 60 - Leo, Patrick, Prager, Dvorak and some guy Bill Machrone. Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) is an asshole, and completely off his rocker. He has no clue what's going on in technology and he needs to be replaced because he's doing WAY too much harm. Again, some more Net Neutrality which is VERY important that everyone understands what is going on. And why is Dvorak taking control of the show? He sucks on TWIT, Leo, com'on man, you're the host, keep him in check.
Inside the Net - Episode 27 - First time I've listened to this podcast. I've heard Amber McArthur on Twit a few times and she's okay. But the reason I listened this time, was the guys from Ask a Ninja were on, and I wanted to hear the interview and it's really funny. I really enjoyed the show and will listen to next weeks and see if it is because of the guests or because of the show itself, so we'll see.
**** Misc ****
Sierra Nevada Summerfest - A bottom fermented lager. Light, refreshing. Pours golden with a small white head. Pretty clean taste, and could really see drinking a lot of this on a hot summer day.
