I'm a big slacker

Seriously, I'm a big slacker and forgot to post Friday or the whole weekend.  So here's a big one to get caught up.

YouTube - Darth Vader being a smartass - Pretty funny

The Daily Show - 8/2 - Jon Stewart starts off by making fun of the audience who waited outside in searing hot conditions to see the show.  Pretty funny clip montage to the President and his eating habits.  A look back on the past 10 years and interviews done in Florida which wasn't bad.  Chris Payne is the special guest, he did a documentary called Who Killed the Electric Car?  It was a good interview, I didn't know that the cars even really existed let alone that they were taken back and crushed by GM.

The Colbert Report - 8/2 - Stephen apparently drank a gallon of milk on the bus on the way to work, and that didn't go over so well.  An "audience" member wanted him to put Milk "On Notice" which lead to a clip about how the Notice Board is made.  Single Serving is The Word.  Colbert set a part of the show aside for an interview with Joe Lieberman, so he had to fill it with something, so he took some phone calls.  He then explained journalism.  Linda Hirschman was the special guest and she wrote a book called Get to Work, about woman needing to get to work.  And I think a bit of Stephen's real personal came through during the interview.  Linda said, multiple times, that a woman who WANTS to stay home and take care of kids is wrong.  Stephen basically told her that what she says is the correct thing for woman to want is what she wants woman to want.  Yeah, it's a confusing sentence but it makes sense if you read it enough times.

The Daily Show - 8/3 - John Stewart says that December 31 is the same as the 12th of Nevur - a.k.a. the day the Iraqi troops will take over peacekeeping duties.  Iraqi Kurdistan is "The Other Iraq" as says their own tourism attraction advertisement.  CNN did some checking with a "Faith and Values" correspondant to see if we were at the end of the world.  Oh and theres a hell is that?  Apparently there is a Rapture Index on the web?  What the hell is that?  Danny Devito is the special guest and he's always funny and made me want to watch the show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Dane Cook's Tourgasm - Epsidoe 8 - This was kinda a recap episode, it was okay but not very funny.  Lots of clips of Dane and Bobbie from when they were younger which was kinda fun to watch.  Overall, though, I would've preferred another clip of them performing at tourgasm.

Pimp my Ride - Toyota Celica - So this girl who doesn' t own a cellphone or a computer gets both and 2 TB of storage in her car.  What the hell does she need with a 2 TB data array in her car?  I'll take it off her hands because I'll actually use it.  Yeah, thanks.

Beer Nutz - Chicago - This episode was only okay.  I liked seeing the inside of some of the bars, but overall, I prefer to see the breweries that I've heard of before and this one just seemed like a lot of going into bars and talking about nothing.

Three Sheets - Tequila - Wow, so the host gets really drunk drinking Tequila.  And they do a weird shot that is tequila and coffee liquor, lit on fire and then dropped in beer, boilermaker style.  After the show, the waiters blindfold you and whip your head around to make you dizzy, yeah, it looked weird.  I didn't know that Jose Cuervo is the oldest tequila producer in the world, so you learn something new everyday.

Diggnation - Episode 57 - The guys are sitting on the floor at Kevin's new pad in San Francisco, he has no couch.  They're drinking Boont Amber Ale, which I can't say I remember them drinking before because I've never heard of it.  I think it's funny that Kevin said he likes the annoying Flash Banner ads, a guy on digg.com whipped up a new one based on diggnation.  YouTube puts all Star Wars fan film back online after Lucasfilm asks them too.  Kevin's looking up the Oxygen Channel Porn lady during the show, which is a bit weird.  An IP address is not enough proof that someone downloaded something, only proof of who payed for the Internet access.

dl.tv - Episode 82 - A pretty good episode, good news and stuff.  They talked about the Ageia's PhysX physics accelerator which is just stupid looking.  And how to share Network in a hotel, which was pretty good.  No need for 802.11n right now, but someday in the future.
Oh, and E3 is downsizing which is very interesting.

dl.tv - Episode 83 - I like the monkey hanging out in the background.  Congress wants to ban MySpace from online libraries and schools.  AOL is going to be firing like 5000 jobs as they try to switch from a subscriber base to an advertiser based model.  Robert shows off a bit of CutePDF which is pretty nice way to print to a PDF file.

CommandN - Episode 55 - An interesting story of a Bikini that tells you when you're in too much sun.  A neat little feature on how to use gmail to check and send email from other accounts.  I haven't tried to use that yet, but it's an interesting idea.

Crankygeeks - Episode 21 - A lot of MySpace talk again.  I swear to god, I don't fucking understand MySpace.  It's the worst designed site in the world, impossible to navigate and one of the worst signal-to-noise ratio on the whole damn web, yet it's insanely popular.  MySpace is one of the first things that's made me feel old, it's a "hip" thing I don't understand.  Well, that and text messaging.  I don't understand text messaging, other than a few particular instances, either.  Also some iPod accessories talk, like the OhMiBod - and iPod powered dildo.

TWiT - Episode 64 Chaos Theory - I'm a week late on this one, but that's okay.  The people on the podcast are Leo, Patrick, Prager, Doug Kaye, Chris Pirillo and Dr. Jerry E. Pournelle, who writes about Chaos Theory or something.  They start the show off with some talk about making money during podcasts.  Then some really good talk about Intel and AMD chips and the new Core 2 Duo.  I can't wait to get one, actually :)  Then some AMD/ATI merger talk.  Then some talk about the E3 convention scaling back.  And Christ, more MySpace stuff.

Criss Angel - Mindfreak - Back to School - Criss goes back to his high school to perform some magic for the teachers and students there.  The big illusion of the night was getting a bunch of kids (4) hypnotized and they picked up a car off the ground.  It was pretty impressive, actually.

Ctrl-Alt-Chicken - Beef Stew - Heather and Alex create beef stew.  This is a dish that's pretty hard to screw up, so it isn't a big surprise that they get it correct and it tastes good.  The show was funny though.
