Wow, DVR clearing weekend

Yet again, I couldn't post at night.  I wonder that the hell is happening, I seem to only be able to post in the morning.

Our DVR is completely cleared.  We still have some downloaded shows to watch, but for the first time since right after we got it, our DVR is completely cleared.

The Show with Ze Frank - I said I'd post if he did a really funny one, and damn he did.  The 8/17 show when he gives the different levels of sickness exaggeration was classic.

FLOSS - Episode 6 - The special guest is Larry Augustin who is one of the champions of the Linux movement.  Extremely interesting interview about the first real Linux custom installer.  Also some talk of Surgar CRM which is a very cool Open Source CRM program.  So cool, I kinda want to try it :)

FLOSS - Episode 7 - Jimmy Wales of Wikipedia is the special guest.  My interview got cut off a bit, so I didn't get the whole thing, and again, I'm too lazy to go get it again but it was a very interesting interview.

FLOSS - Episode 8 - Ryan Gordon is a big time Linux developer and an SDL guru who talks about people getting into game development.

The Daily Show - 8/17 - The Jonbenet Ramsy case is apparently more important than the Iraq War or the Israel/Lebanon stuff.  A little Live from 1997 with Rob Cordry.

FLOSS - Episode 9 - Randall Schwartz this is a very interesting interview with a serious PERL guru and a real genius developer.  Very cool.

FLOSS- Episode 10 - Hemos from Slashdot is the guest.  It's interesting because one of Leo's friends is Kevin Rose, who does digg and digg is one of /.'s biggest competitors.  Very interesting to see how some questions are asked and responded to.

Psych - Pilot - This is a fun show.  Not the best show I've ever seen, but the chemistry between the leads is pretty good and the main character is a character, funny.  Lace and I watched one episode a while back, then realized it wasn't the first one, so I went and got the first two.  The Pilot was actually pretty good.

Psych - Spelling Bee - The guys investigate apparent sabotage and murder at a spelling bee.  Funny episode.  But my review of all of them are going to be pretty much the same, so I'm just going to list the other ones we watched, Woman Seeking Dead Husband - Smokers Okay, No Pets then we watched 9 Lives (Shawn pretends to get clues from a cat in order to get more information.)  We then watched Weekend Warriors which had Civil War reactors (which is something I really don't get, but that's besides the point.  The last one we watched is Who Ya Gonna Call where the guys need to find out a ghost who is haunting a client.  Umm, yeah, this one was a bit weird, though, and if you saw it, you'll know what I mean.

Beer Nutz - Portland Or - I'd like to go to Portland, the place in the country where the most Hops are grown.  That would be pretty neat to see.  Also, they have a lot of really cool/good looking bars that I'd like to try.

Three Sheetz - Ireland - Zane goes to Ireland and drinks a LOT of Guinness.  He also drinks some Jameson and some other things, but for the most part, he's drinking Guinness.  Learn how to pour it correctly, why it takes so long from pour to drinking, if done correctly.  Pretty good episode for the most part.

Eureka - Alienated - One of the townspeople appears to be abducted by aliens and then a bunch of people start acting really weird.  I liked the explanation as to why they did it, too, that was really neat.  I like this show too, it's not the best show but it's a lot of fun to watch.

Mythbusters - Shattering Subwoofer - The guys build a sub powered by a diesel engine to try to destroy a car.  They got 161 db at 16 hz, which is un-be-fricken-leviable and very very cool.  Also, the other team proved something that we all know, driving faster on washboard dirt road feels smoother.  More dangerous, sure, but smoother.

America's Got Talent - STOP READING if you haven't watched the finale yet and you care cause I'm gonna spoil it - The girl Bianca won.  The one damn thing I didn't want to happen ( a singer winning) did.  Oh, well.

30 Days - Outsourcing - A guy who's job got outsourced to India travels to India and works in a call center for 30 days.  It's an interesting premise, but I think it's unfounded.  The real problem in this country with respect to outsourcing, is that they outsource all this work to India and they're finding out that yeah, it's 1/3 of the price but it takes them 4 times as long to do it, there goes all your profit.  And customer support has to be stopped this India call centers where you can't understand the people.

30 Days - Athiest/Christian - An athiest lives with a Christian family for 30 days.  Not one of the better ones because 30 days only works if the two groups can ever see eye-to-eye on something, and these two are just so diametrically opposed, that it can't work.

30 Days - New Age - This has been my favorite episode so far this season.  The guy who goes into the New Age movement wants to see if any of the stuff they teach (yoga, tribal dancing, tarot, accupuncture, raking, cupping, etc) works and does it with an open mind and found some stuff that works for him.  Good for him.
