Small day, had a meeting today

dl.tv - Episode 81 - Digg.com fans hack Netscape.  Pretty funny stuff since Netscape copied Digg.com almost completely.  They did it using an XSS vunerability, that's something my sites are probably vunerable too.  Some talk about MP3 encoders.  I use CDex (I could use EAC, but I have CDex working very well for me now and I don't feel like changing) which uses LAME to encode.  I also use --alt-preset extreme which is ridiculous but the files sound great.  Oooh, the new Sony HDR-HC3 looks really nice and at only $1,400 it's starting to get affordable.  Also a review of Sam & Max, or at least an intro.  I'm not familiar with these   They also talked about the NEC TheaterSync a pretty nice scaler.  I don't really NEED a scaler for my plasma, it would be overkill, but when I do get a theater room (and I will get one :)) then I'll probably get a pretty high end scaler too.

Crankygeeks - Episode 20 - Sebastian Rupley is the Head Crank today because Dvorak isn't available.  Oh, darn.  A lot of talk about the ATI & AMD merger (or buyout depending on your talk) which was interesting.  I think the one guy got it right that AMD wants to be able to offer low end (think cheap Dell) and laptop companies an all-inclusive platform like Intel has been able to do for a while now.  The Japanese are going to attempt to predict weather for 30 years into the future. We'll see how that works out, since the guys on Channel 6 can't get the weather right for tomorrow.

Diggnation - Episode 56 - Wow, the guys had me rolling at something entirely inappropriate today.  Some kid with eye cancer figured out how to move around by clicking his tongue and listening to the echoes.  Really sucks for the kid, but the guys went off with how cool sonar would be.  I think it's funny when Kevin starts talking about how room temperature water is better for your system than cold water while he's drinking a Budweiser.  And a nice little argument about when the acceptable use of LOL is.  Apparently, if you aren't actually laughing out loud you shouldn't put lol.  And if your rofl you should have to take a second to get off the floor and back in your chair before being able to respond again.
